The Sun is Red

Hi.
On the way to maths, the sky was yellow. It looked like an Instagram filter or something... weird and almost hollow. It's an indescribable colour.

We went to PSHE; by the time that was finished, everyone was shouting "Look at the sun!" (some said "Look at the moon!") I didn't get to see for a while as it was hidden behind a building but then I saw; the clouds had parted to reveal a weird, red-white orb in the sky. It was beautiful but also kind of threatening- like something you'd see on Dr Who. Everyone looked at it for a while but then the clouds covered it again and the sky continued to be yellow-orange-pink and looked hollow again. The air smells better- some people say it smells like tropical flowers and sandalwood.

So, Lithium and I went to the library (which is where we are now) to look up what had happened- turns out that it's related to the hurricane Ophelia- the wind is bringing up dust and air from the Sahara and the dust is up in the atmosphere which is refracting the sunlight into longer wavelengths, making it appear red. That's what the news said. Of course, there were one or two posts that said "Red sun? Yellow sky? The End of the World!"

Learning what it really was took some of the fun and mystery out of it; I secretly want to believe that the Daleks have stolen the Earth but that's stupid so I won't. Anyway, lunch is almost over so I guess I should go now. I could have waited until I got home to write this but I want to write as it's happening because I can look out of the window now and the sky will still be the beautiful, hollow colour.
Bye.
